abstract = "The purpose of this work was to evaluate the effect of using
several image classification schemes for mapping land cover and
use in three input data: original bands, equalization of bands,
fractions of linear mixture model. Four classification procedures
were used: K-means, Isoseg, Maximum Likelihood and Battacharya.
Results showed that all classification methods used were efficient
with very good performance according to the Kappa coefficient.
There were not expressive differences in the algorithms global
performance with the variation in input data. For any data input
the class forest, secondary forest and soil were well discriminate
with MaxVer, K-means and Battacharya respectively. The class grass
was well recognized on original bands with Isoseg.",
